About Janet Jackson

There would be too many things to say about Janet Damita Jo Jackson, by the real name, the well-known American artist and actress. Janet Jackson was born on May 16, 1966.

She did almost everything, starting with TV shows, television appearances, film roles, and later also known as the sister of a world-known artist, Michael Jackson.

She had a collaboration with Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, with who she introduced elements of r&b, dance, pop, funk, hip-hop and other various musical styles. She had an enormous success, being the only artist in history to have seven top five singles from the same album - Rhythm Nation 1814 (1989), treating socially themes and lots of music styles.

Starting her career in the early 1970s, when she took part in the variety show The Jacksons, she was a real talent from the beginning.

Afterwards, at the age of only sixteen, she made a contract with A&M Records and her debut album - "Janet Jackson" - was released in 1982.

Over the time she had very important music videos, innovative and expensive, like for example "Scream" (see video), with her brother Michael Jackson, which was the most expensive video of all times, and still is. Nowadays, from 2010 until today, she has had a lot of film projects and philanthropy, like "Why did I get married?" and the sequel "Why did I get married too?"

She has also a lot of recognition from all the stars and important persons in the music world, like Britney Spears, Beyonce, Lady Gaga, Elton John, George Michael and a lot of other personalities that acknowledge Janet to be a life changer, a big influence, an inspiring character and all the good things that you almost never sum up in just one person.

Not the last thing we should bring in is her voice, which is really some kind of angelic mixed up with sexy and devil influences. Not just that she can sing almost any kind of music, but she can whisper, scream, love through her amazing voice, sending any message intended.

Singer, songwriter and actress Janet Jackson from Indiana, the youngest of nine children born to Joseph Walter Jackson, grew up in the influence of a well-known family, married a lot of times and had a tumultuous life. She did not have any children, even if the rumors said something about she having a baby, she never did.

Nonetheless, as if to confirm her success, Jackson won an American Music Award for favorite female pop/rock artist in January 2002.

Having sold over 140 million records, she is one of the best-selling artists in the history of contemporary music and she is still an icon, a presence in the music industry and I am sure she will remain among the best for ever.
