About Joe Cocker
Known as Joe Cocker, his real complete name is John Robert Cocker.
He was born in 1944 and he is well known all over the world due to the rock and blues songs he performs in a great manner, impressing also through his gritty voice, his unique way of moving his body when singing on the stage, and his out of the box covers of famous songs that he has continuously performed since the beginning of his career, in the 1960s, most of them having unexpectedly beautiful piano sheets.
When talking about beautiful and famous songs Joe created covers for in his style, it is worth to be mentioned that his favorite songs are originally performed by The Beatles.
One of the covers he made considering The Beatles wide repertory, was "With a Little Help from My Friends", which registered a high success, getting to be positioned on the first place in the UK charts in 1968.
The cover was performed live by Joe at Woodstock in 1969 and it brought to the artist even more fans than he was already having.
Another single which registered a high success, few years later, in 1975, is called "You Are So Beautiful", being placed on the fifth position in the United States.
The artist received numerous awards during his career, including the Grammy Award in 1983 for the song "Up Where We Belong", which has inspired a beautiful song created as a duet with Jennifer Warnes.
Also, another important year was 1993, when Joe received the nomination for the Brit Award for Best British Male.
2007 brought to the artist an OBE at Buckingham Palace for services to music.
