Taylor Alison Swift is the full name of a singer and songwriter from Pennsylvania, USA.

She was born on the thirteenth of December, year 1989. Also being a record producer, philanthropist and actress, she occupies herself with the country genre, as well as pop and pop rock. She also knows how to play the piano, the guitar, the ukulele and the banjo. Taylor Swift has been active on the musical scene since the year 2004 and has worked solely for the Big Machine label.

She was raised in Wyomissing, but she relocated to Nashville, Tennessee in order to start her musical career. The label Big Machine Records signed her and she also got a deal with Sony/ATV Music, to publish the songs written by her. The year 2006 was the release of her first studio album. This album made her a great country star and became known worldwide since her debut.

Single number three, called "Our Song", topped the Hot Country Songs charts, making Swift the youngest artist to do so. She was nominated for the Best New Artist award at the Grammy Awards edition of 2008.

Her second album came out in 2008, being titled "Fearless". Two of those pop singles made the album become a best-seller in 2009 for the US market. Those singles were "You Belong with Me" and "Love Story". The album "Fearless" also managed to win a number of 4 Grammy Awards, one of them being for Album of the Year. Her third album was titled "Speak Now" and was released in 2010. This album also won her 2 Grammy Awards, managing to sell well over 1 millon times in the US since the first 10 days.

The fourth album for Taylor Swift was entitled "Red" and was also very successful, also selling over 1 million copies in the United States since its debut.

Two of the singles from the album became international hit singles. First, there was "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together", then "I Knew You Were Trouble".

In 2014, she released album number five, titled "1989". It was an instant best-seller, probably her greatest commercial success. Two of the singles from the album managed to top the Billboard Hot 100 charts. First, there was "Shake It Off", followed by "Blank Space".

Taylor Swift has been included in the Nashville Songwriters Association.

Also, she has been inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame. She is the winner of 12 Billboard Music Awards, as well as one Brit Award and many others.
