About Bryan Adams

Bryan Adams is the name of a singer and musician from Kingston, Ontario, Canada.

He has also acted and produced music, even got involved in the photography area.

Born on the fifth of November, year 1959, he has been a guitarist and vocalist for the rock genre, yet he is a multi-instrumentalist.

He can also play the piano, the harmonica, the bass guitar and even the dobro. He started his career when he was only 17 years old, in 1976. Since then, he has worked with labels Verve, Polydor and A&M.

Also being a social activist, Adams is an iconic figure of the rock music, even since the 70s period. With strong vocal skills and great energy on the stage in his live performances, his albums have sold over 100 million times. This feat places him at the top of the best-selling Canadian artists ever.

In North America, his album "Cuts Like a Knife" meant initial fame, but he became a star only when he released "Reckless" in 1984. Seven years later, the album "Waking Up the Neighbors" got released. The album contained one of the greatest singles commercially ever, a song titled "(Everything I Do) I Do It For You".

Bryan Adams is the receiver of many awards, managing to win a number of twenty Juno Awards from his fifty-six nominations. He was also nominated fifteen times for a Grammy Award, managing to win Best Song Written Specifically for a Motion Picture or Television in 1992.

He was also awarded with MTV awards, American Music ones, or ASCAP Awards. For his song compositions, he won 2 Ivor Novello Awards. Other nominations include five ones for Golden Globe Awards and 3 other times for Academy Awards.

He has been included in the Hollywood Walk of Fame in the year 2011, already being part of the Canada Walk of Fame since 1998. At the 2006 edition of the Juno Awards, he also got included in the Canadian Music Hall of Fame. In year 2008, he was placed at rank 38 on the Billboard Hot 100 list of All-Time top artists. Because he was part of many charity events, campaigns and concerts, he was the receiver of the Allan Waters Humanitarian Award in 2010.

Later that year, he also received the Governor General’s Performing Arts Award. He has also received the Order of Canada, as well as the Order of British Columbia, thanks to his foundation that helps children get education.
