About Major Lazer

Major Lazer is an electronic music band, founded by Diplo and Switch alongside Jillionaire, and Walshy Fire.

Switch is no longer part of the band since 2011.

The band’s first album was released on June 16th 2009, under the name "Guns Don't Kill People... Lazers Do". The singles found on the album were composed with the help of Prince Zimboo Mapei, T.O.K, Leftside and some others.

"Hold the Line" is the first from the album. It was included on the video game FIFA 2010.

The sheet music of Major Lazer’s song for "Hold the Line" has a tempo of 156 beats per minutes for the piano.

Major Lazer collaborated with Snoop Dogg for some tracks for his reggae project in 2012. Snoop Dogg's project was in fact his new album "Free the Universe", which was released in March 2013.

As another project, Major Lazer produced Rita Ora's debut album, named "Ora". Also Major Lazer worked for the album "Push and Shove" of the band No Doubt.

Great things happened in October, when Major Lazer started their Fall Tour 2012. They had shows in New York City, Washington, Oakland, D.C., Boston, and some others.

Their next album was called "Free the Universe" and they had a World Tour in 2013 to promote it.

"Peace Is the Mission" is the name of the album released on June 1st 2015. For this one the band collaborated with Ellie Goulding and Ariana Grande. The first single from the album is called "Lean On", which had a really big success.

Major Lazer’s track is composed in the originally key of Bb major. The track got popular and was placed No. 2 in the UK charts and No. 4 on the US Hot 100 chart.

Five months later after the album "Peace is the Mission", the band released "Peace is the Mission: Extended".

The song "Cold Water" was released in July 2016, featuring Justin Bieber. It got No.1 in many countries like Austria, Australia, Finland, Ireland, Italy, New Zealand or Norway. It got No.2 in Mexico, Israel and Germany.

It is well known that Major Lazer’s piano tabs are loved by many players and their tracks are considered to have relaxing beats.
