Bruce Springsteen is the name of a singer, songwriter and guitar player from New Jersey, USA.

He was born on the 23rd of September, year 1949 in Long Branch. His main genres are rock, folk rock, heartland rock and roots rock. He has been active on the music scene since 1965, working for the label Columbia Records.

He has been associated with several other musical acts, such as E Street Band, Warren Zevon, Tom Morello, The Sessions Band, The Gaslight Anthem, Gary U.S. Bonds, Little Steven, Steel Mill, Miami Horns, Southside Johnny & the Asbury Jukes, Dropkick Murphys, USA for Africa.

On his full name Bruce Frederick Joseph Springsteen, he has been called "The Boss" and is known for the poetry involved in his lyrics, as well as being a great live entertainer. His live concerts last long and are very exciting. He started concerting since the 1970s period.

His main success is his album "Born in the U.S.A.", as well as his earlier one, "Born to Run". In the US, he sold over 64 million record copies. Worldwide, his numbers go over 120 million copies. His first album has been the 1973 one, titled "Greetings from Asbury Park, N.J.". That same year, he released another album, called "The Wild, the Innocent & the E Street Shuffle". Two years later, he recorded and released "Born to Run". In 1978, Springsteen released "Darkness on the Edge of Town". Two years later, the album "The River" came out. In 1982, he also released "Nebraska".

The year 1984 was the year of the hit album "Born in the U.S.A.". In 1987, he followed on that success with "Tunnel of Love". In 1992, he came back to the scene with "Lucky Town". In 1995, he released album "The Ghost of Tom Joad". After a seven years break, he came back with "The Rising".

In 2005, he also released album "Devils & Dust". One year later, the album "We Shall Overcome: The Seeger Sessions" was released. In 2007, "Magic" was out, followed 2 years later by "Working on a Dream". In 2012 he released "Wrecking Ball", followed two years later by "High Hopes".

Bruce Springsteen has won the 1985 Grammy for "Dancing in the Dark", the award being Best Rock Vocal Performance, Male.

In 1988, he won Best Rock Vocal Solo Performance for "Tunnel of Love". In 1995, he won 4 Grammy Awards for the song from the movie "Philadelphia". The song was named "Streets of Philadelphia". He managed to win 14 other Grammy Awards, as well as 2 Golden Globes and one Academy Award.
