About 50 Cent

50 Cent is the stage name of Curtis James Jackson III, a New York rapper and actor.

He was born on the sixth of July, year 1975 and has been active in the music industry since 1998. During his career, he has worked with the following labels: Caroline Records, Capitol Records, G-Unit Records, Interscope Records, Shady Records, Aftermath Entertainment, Columbia Records, Jam Master Jay Records.

He has been associated with the following musical acts: G-Unit, Dr. Dre, Sha Money XL, Olivia, Dj Whoo Kid, Eminem and The Game.

50 Cent is also an investor and an entrepreneur. In the 80s period, he was selling drugs since he was only twelve years old. In the year 2000, he was involved in a shooting, getting hit by a number of 9 bullets. In 2002, he released an album with compilations, called "Guess Who’s Back?". Eminem saw him and his work and got him signed to Shady Records, eventually even to Interscope Records or Aftermath Entertainment.

Eminem continued to help 50 Cent, bringing his friend Dr. Dre in the deal as well. Dre was the producer for 50 Cent’s major label album, one titled "Get Rich or Die Tryin’".

Since then, 50 Cent became one of the greatest hip hop artists and rappers on the planet, starting a group called G-Unit. In the year 2003 50 Cent formed his own label titled G-Unit Records, where he brought his partners, Young Buck, Tony Yayo and Lloyd Banks.

The second album from 50 Cent was called "The Massacre", which got out in 2005. His album number five got out in 2014 and was named "Animal Ambition". His 2015 album is entitled "Street King Immortal".

Curtis Jackson managed to sell more than thirty million records internationally and is a multi-awarded singer. He has even won one Grammy Award, 13 Billboard Music Awards, a number of 6 World Music Awards, 4 Bet Awards and 3 American Music Awards. As an actor, he started off in a movie inspired from his life, titled "Get Rich or Die Tryin’". It was released in 2005. Then, one year later, he was featured in the war movie "Home of the Brave", then in 2008 he appeared in "Righteous Kill".

50 Cent got to be called number 6 on a list of the best musicians of the 2000 period. He was also named the third on a list of best rappers. Two of his albums were ranked top 50 in the decade, in a list by the Billboard association.
