About Drake

Aubrey Drake Graham is the full name of rapper Drake, who is also a songwriter and actor.

Starting as a Canadian born in Ontario, at the age of 15 starred in a Canadian TV show, he started his first mixtape in 2006, citing influences such as Jay-Z, Mos Def and Anthony Hamilton.

He continued to release mixtapes and in 2009, "So Far Gone" was successful, getting even on radio. Two hits from that mixtape are definitory for Drake’s career, namely "Best I Ever Had" and "Successful". This lead to an EP release from Drake and then he started working with big names such as Rihanna, Jay-Z, Eminem, Timbaland, Kanye West, Dr. Dre and others.

In 2009, Drake signed a deal with Young Money Entertainment and started touring with big names such as Lil Wayne.

"So Far Gone" was released as an EP on September 2009, debuting at sixth place on the Billboard 200, getting certified Gold and winning the award for Rap Recording of the Year in at the 2010 Juno Awards.

His debut album was released in 2010, titled "Thank Me Later", debuting with great success at the top of Billboard 200. The first single from the album was "Over", peaking at number 14.

The second single from the debut album was "Find Your Love", reaching number 5 on the Hot 100 and gaining the status of Platinum by the RIAA. As a big hit even internationally, the single was featured in the top 40 in United Kingdom and Italy, and even top 10 in his home country of Canada.

After successful tours around the USA and hosting festivals with important rappers such as Rick Ross, Eminem and Jay-Z, he planned to release his second album, titled "Take Care". Released at the end of 2011, the album featured successful songs such as "Marvin’s Room" and "Dreams Money Can Buy", as well as lead single "Headlines", which got Platinum in the USA and Canada as well. The second single was "Make Me Proud", which also got Platinum status.

The "Take Care" title track is the fourth single from the album and became his greatest hit worldwide, featuring international famous Rihanna.

Drake formed a label called OVO Sound in 2012 and aimed to release his third studio album, filming for a new single song titled "Started from the Bottom" and also receiving the Grammy for Best Rap Album.

His third album was "Nothing Was the Same" and since 2014, he has released "If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late" and planned new material to come.
