About Sleeping at Last
Sleeping At Last is an indie rock project that is formed from one member only, Ryan O'Neal.
Initially, the group started with Ryan O'Neal as a lead singer, Dan Perdue as the bassist and Chad O'Neal as the drummer. It was formed in Wheaton, Illinois. They used to serve as the opening act for bands like Plain White T's and Kill Hannah. Because of their local popularity they caught the attention of Billy Corgan.
After that came the contract with Interscope Records and their first major label, "Ghosts". The other two member left in 2008 and 2011. The musical project has been on the market since 1999. Ryan O'Neal approached various musical styles like indie rock, baroque pop, emo and alternative pop.
Sleeping At Last embarked on tours as the opening acts for Switchfoot, Yellowcard, Something Corporate, Zwan, The Format and Bleu. One of their songs, "Tethered" appeared on the television series "Grey's Anatomy".
In 2010 they started a project named "Yearbook" which meant that for the period of one year they release three new songs at the beginning of each month. The songs were included in twelve EPs, each one being named after the month of its release.
The television series "Private Practice" included two of their songs on their episodes, "Homesick" and "Watermark", and then "Emphasis", "Wires", "Tethered" and "From The Ground Up".
In 2011, Sleeping At Last announced that he would write a song exclusively for the movie "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1". The song was named "Turning Page" and had a second version named "Turning Pages Instrumental". Both of them were included on the album "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1 Original Motion Picture Soundtrack".
In 2012, the musical project released the EP "8 Bits" which contained songs that were remixed by Michael Caroll and Steven Padin. The movie "The Fault In Our Stars" used the song "Sun", part of the album "Atlas: Space 1", on their trailer.
Sleeping At Last's latest project is "Atlas: Year 1", which is a compilation of extended plays and it was released on July 8th, 2014.
The band's discography includes "Capture", from 2000, "Ghosts", from 2003, "Keep No Score", from 2006 and "Storyboard", from 2009. Their compilation list includes "Christmas Collection 2014", "Yearbook", "Christmas Collection 2013" and "Atlas: Year 1".
