You by The Carpenters piano sheets for free
"You" is a song from the American duo "The Carpenters".
It is part of their seventh studio album, "A Kind Of Hush", that was recorded in 1976. The song was released in May, the same year, along with the album. It also contained hits such as "There's A Kind Of Hush (All Over The World)", which topped the charts in the United States as well as in the United Kingdom, "Goofus", which reached the Billboard charts and "I Need To Be In Love", a single that reached number 25 in the United States and 36 in the United Kingdom.
It featured many musical genres like adult contemporary, pop and easy listening. "A Kind Of Hush" also received a gold certification from the RIAA and and reached a high position in the United Kingdom album chart.
It was produced by the band's members, Karen and Richard Carpenter. It sold over half a million copies in the US, over a hundred thousand in the United Kingdom and more than 80 000 in Japan, where it reached number 5 on the albums chart.
It was also present in the charts from Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Norway. Beside "You", the album contained songs like "Sandy", "Can't Smile Without You", "One More Time", "I Have You", "Boat To Sail" and "Breaking Up Is Hard To Do". "A Kind Of Hush" was described as "well-played". "well sung" and "pleasant".
"You" is the eight track from the album and it was written by Randy Edelman, and, produced by Karen and Richard Carpenter.
The 3:52 minutes long song was composed at the time when the singer's addiction to sleeping pills began affecting him in his professional life, which stands as the reason why "You" didn't gain the popularity it deserved at the time.
"You" is an ode to love and sounds like a confession that goes from expressing the feelings of love that he has, apologizing for the bad ones, and eventually ends with a rhetorical question:
"You Are One Of The Things Worth Remembering
And Since It's All True
How Could Anyone Mean More To Me
Despite not gaining the popularity it deserved, "You" is a beautiful song that describes profound feelings of love. You can find the free piano sheet on our website and learn how to play the ballad.
