About Pure Prairie League

"Pure Prairie League", or PPL, is a famous American country-rock band which took birth in Waverly, Ohio, in 1965. It’s formed of Craig Fuller, Tommy McGrail, Jim Caughlam and John Call. The name of the band origins in a fictional temperance union from a cowboy film, named "Dodge City".

After signing a deal with RCA, the band released their debut album, in 1972 and went in a nationwide tour. In the same year, they started recording their second album "Bustin’ Out" that was released in October. In 1973 they embarked in many concerts throughout the country, especially in colleges.

As a result, one of their songs, "Amie", began a favorite to the public. Their third album, "Two Lane Highways" was launched to the public in 1975. In 1980, PPL signed with Casablanca Records and released "Firin’ Out" which spawned many hits, such as: "Let Me Love You Tonight" and "I’m Almost Ready".

They released another album with Casablanca, "Something In The Night", in 1981 and had another single that kept them in the charts: "Still Right Here In My Heart". Casablanca however, went bankrupt and was sold to Polygram Records. This resulted in the end of their collaboration.

PPL was revived in 1994 and once again, in 2004.

In 2005, the group reunited for a tour and released "All In Good Time", their first album in 18 years. In 2014, Pure Prairie League still has more than 100 concerts in one year.

PPL is a band that had a very long run and was able to pass the test of time. It’s an important part of the rock-country industry that still receives demand from the public.
