About Zedd

Zedd is a Russian-German producer, on his real name Anton Zaslavski.

The DJ was born in Russia, Saratov, on September 2nd, 1989 in a family of musicians.

He started playing the piano at only 4 years old and the drums at age twelve. He entered the music industry in 2002 as he joined the German band "Dioramic".

This came as a result of signing in with Lifeforce Records. The inspiration for his choice of career was drown from the French electronic band Justice.

He entered the producing business in 2009. His main producing filed is electro house but he also approaches other genres such as dubstep, classical music or progressive house.

In 2010, the artist won two Beatport remix contests.

His first song was "The Anthem", which appeared in Beatport Electro House chart, in top 20.

A more successful record was a remix of "Scary Monsters And Nice Sprites", from Skrillex. It reached number two on the Beatport Electro House chart.

The producers made many remixes from artists like Lady Gaga, the Black Eyed Peas or Justin Bieber.

He uses the Cubase music production application and the plug-ins that he uses include Synthmaster 2.6, Sylenth , Nixus and Omnisphere.

In 2011h remixed "Born This Way", from Lady Gaga, and the song was featured on her album with the same name.

Zedd's first song on OWSLA records was "Shave It Up", which was also featured on Skrillex's YouTube teaser.

The following year, the producer signed with Interscope Records and launched his first single, "Spectrum", which also featured Matthew Koma on the vocals.

After the release, he produced various songs such as "Beauty And A Beat", for Justin Bieber and "I Don't Like You", for Eva Simons.

2013 was a busy one for Zedd, as he produced important hits such as three song from the successful album, "Artpop", from Lady Gaga.

Also, he produced one of Namie Amuro's songs, "Heaven", which was part of the album "Feel".

In 2014, the producer released his second single, "Break Free". The hit reached number four on Billboard Hot 100 and topped the Hot Dance/Electronic Songs. It also earned him a nomination at the "Teen Choice Awards", for "Break-Up Song".

Zedd won a Grammy Award with the song "Clarity", for "Best dance Recording" and an MTV Music Video award for "MTV Club land Award", with the song "Stay The Night".

At only 25, the Russian-German producer already gained a Grammy and fame while his popularity keeps growing.
