"When I Was Your Man" is a song by pop artist Bruno Mars, featured as a single for the artist’s album number two, titled "Unorthodox Jukebox".
It was a song recorded in the year 2011, but released by the label Atlantic Records only in January, 2013.
It was made available both on CD and as a digital download. As promo, it was single number three, but officially it was the second single from the album. It was written by the singer alongside Ari Levine and Philip Lawrence and produced by The Smeezingtons.

With a simple video production led by director Cameron Duddy, the video was highly praised and appreciated. Cover versions for the single didn’t cease to appear, several musicians doing their own versions.
First Rascal Flatts covered the song, then Sam Smith. Mike Ward even made a studio rendition of the song, which got up to rank 60 on the UK Singles Charts.
"When I Was Your Man" was used as the soundtrack theme for a TV show in Brazil called "Amor a Vida".
It was a fan favorite during 2013 and 2014, when Mars toured on The Moonshine Jungle Tour. It’s had great commercial success worldwide, getting certified four times Platinum in Australia, Canada and the US, as well as double Platinum in Mexico, New Zealand and Denmark.
